Server credentials and rotation#

Server credentials let your plugin send trusted activity to Joinometry.

Why credentials are shown once#

Joinometry shows API keys and signing secrets only when they are created or rotated. This protects your account if someone later gains access to the dashboard.

If you lose the secret, you do not need to recover it. Rotate credentials and paste the new values into the plugin config.

When to rotate credentials#

Rotate credentials when:

• a secret may have been shared accidentally,
• a staff member with server file access leaves,
• you are moving the plugin to a new machine,
• you want to clean up an old test setup.

How to rotate safely#

1. Open the server in Servers.
2. Rotate credentials.
3. Copy the new values immediately.
4. Paste them into the plugin config.
5. Restart the server.
6. Confirm the heartbeat returns.

Old credentials should stop being used after the plugin is restarted with the new values.
