Choose an attribution model#
Your attribution model decides how Joinometry gives campaign credit when a player has multiple touchpoints.
First touch#
First touch gives credit to the first touchpoint in the attribution window.
Use it when you care most about which campaign originally introduced the player.
First known touch#
First known touch gives credit to the first recognized campaign touchpoint. It skips direct or unknown touchpoints that do not belong to a campaign.
Use it when you want the first real campaign to receive credit, even if the player first arrived through traffic Joinometry could not identify.
Last touch#
Last touch gives credit to the most recent eligible touchpoint before the purchase.
Use it when you care most about what brought the player back right before they converted.
Linear#
Linear shares credit across eligible campaign touchpoints.
Use it when players often interact with several promotions before purchasing and you want to avoid giving all credit to one moment.
Which should I start with?#
Most servers should start with First known touch or First touch. They are easier to explain and usually match how teams think about acquisition. Move to Last touch or Linear when you have enough traffic to compare behavior.
